i draw from the body—where feeling becomes form
mark becomes language, gesture becomes knowing

eileen cubbage is an interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges drawing, painting, fiber, video, and language. her practice centers the body as a site of inquiry—where sensation, perception, and transformation emerge through mark-making.

i create spaces where art and embodiment meet. with over 30 years of drawing and painting experience, my work blends fine art with somatics, movement, and contemplative practice—offering a return to the body, a way to listen inward, and a process of making with presence.

i explore the body as a living archive: a place where memory, sensation, and emotion shape perception and creative response. through somatic awareness and intuitive mark-making, i guide others in translating what’s felt into form.

i’ve taught internationally, and my work in art, movement, and meditation has been supported by residencies, certifications, and exhibitions across the u.s., europe, asia, and mexico.

i have an mfa in painting, certifications in guided drawing™ (institute of sensorimotor arts), integrative somatic arts, 300-hour meditation, 240-hour yoga, and children’s yoga. my training includes the new york studio school drawing marathon, butoh and open source forms intensives, and yoga studies around the world.

this practice is part of a lifelong inquiry into attention, transformation, and the language of the line.
