i draw from the body—where feeling becomes form
mark becomes language, gesture becomes knowing
eileen cubbage is an interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges drawing, painting, fiber, video, and language. her practice centers the body as a site of inquiry—where sensation, perception, and transformation emerge through mark-making.

With over 30 years in drawing and painting, I create spaces where art and embodiment meet. My work blends fine art with somatics, movement, and contemplative practice—offering a way to return to the body, listen inward, and make with clarity and presence.
I explore the body as a living archive: a place where memory, sensation, and emotion shape creative perception. Through somatic awareness and intuitive mark-making, I guide others to translate what’s felt into form.
I hold an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and have taught internationally at SCAD, Moore College of Art & Design, and the University of the Arts. My work has been supported by residencies and exhibitions across the U.S., Europe, and Mexico.
This practice is part of a lifelong inquiry into attention, transformation, and the language of the line.
